That is so fantastic! It's great to hear that your hard work and going the extra mile to cover for a co-worker parent paid off! So often it's just expected of us--no questions asked. We are just presumed to be the ones who pick up the slack left by co-workers on maternity leave. And usually you go unrewarded and under-appreciated. Awesome! Hey--life is all about choices. There are trade offs in life depending on our choices--that's just the way it is. I'm so sick of all the attention these breeders get all the time. It's nice to hear that someone like you was recognized and rewarded for your dedication and hard work!! Wow–congrats! That is so fantastic! Many people argue that it is unfair to mothers to have their careers negatively effected by their maternity leave time, but thems the breaks.
