Kindred Spirits…
There’s this girl at work who is fairly new, only been there about a month. Today was the first day I had actually gotten a chance to have a conversation with her since even though we’re in the same department, we work on completely different accounts. We were with a group that had gone to lunch and I can’t remember what exactly the conversation was about (I tend to zone out when people talk about their offspring) but it was apparently some ridiculous story, when the new girl, we’ll call her Lisa, exclaimed “And THAT is one of the many reasons I am NEVER having kids.” Well, that was enough to snap me back to reality as everyone just looked at her in shock, while I looked at her in admiration. Of course, she got the typical bingos which I happily jumped to her defense (and mine as well) and was able to bat down every single one of their “But what if’s, why’s and won’t you’s” that we always get. Pretty soon, the parents, and someday parents gave up and begin to talk amongst themselves about their little heathens’ children’s antics.
So, after learning a bit more about Lisa, it turns out that she is happily single, is dead set against having kids EVER, and doesn’t even like kids in the least (holl-a!) Since the office seems always full of moms, moms-to-be, and ticking clocks, it is such a breath of fresh air that there is atleast one other person who refuses to have a baby-centric life. And just how sweet is that?

That’s awesome! Hopefully, you’ll eventually gain more cf colleagues. Power lies in numbers. It’s easy for the breeders to bang on one cf alone, but when there are more voices agains them, they retreat.
